In the app (fastest)
- Open Barakah and go to Settings → Sharing & Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm. If Privacy Lock is on, unlock first.
- Choose your Google account when asked, so Google can confirm it's you.
Your account and data are deleted right away, and the app starts fresh.
Without the app
If you no longer have Barakah installed, email support@barakahtechnologies.net with the subject Delete my Barakah account, from the Google account (Gmail address) you signed in to Barakah with. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address. We delete the account and its data within 30 days and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your Barakah sign-in (Firebase Authentication account): your Google account's name, email address and user ID as stored for Barakah.
- Your membership in each family: your name, relationship and role, and your phones' encryption keys.
- If you own a shared family: the whole family on our servers, for every member, including all children, care entries, photos, settings, invitations and keys.
- When deleted in the app: all of Barakah's data on that phone.
What is kept
- If you joined someone else's family, the entries you logged stay with that family, because they are part of its shared record. The owner can delete them. They are end-to-end encrypted and can't be read by us.
- Backup files you exported yourself, and copies on other family members' phones, aren't on our servers, so we can't delete them.
- Google Play keeps its own record of any purchases under Google's policies. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription: cancel it in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
We keep no other copies or archives of deleted data.
Deleting some data and keeping your account
- An entry: in the Care tab or the Dashboard's Today's Log, tap the entry's delete button.
- A child and all their entries: Settings → the child → Delete Child (owner and parents).
- Your membership in someone else's family (your name, role and keys): Settings → Sharing & Account → Leave Family.
Deletions reach the server and your family's phones as soon as you are online. You can also email us to ask for specific data to be deleted.
Signing out isn't deleting
Sign Out and Leave Family keep your account. If you never signed in, Barakah has no account for you: everything is on your phone, and uninstalling the app removes it.
